Östra Real Gymnasium is a prestigious and popular high school centrally located on Karlavägen in Östermalm, now seeking a teacher of Swedish and English.

We are the natural step towards higher studies and offer college preparatory programs EK, SA, NA with various specializations and profiles. We also have groups in the Social Science program with a special educational profile for students with autism spectrum diagnoses and Language Introduction for newly arrived students.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a certified teacher of Swedish and English for employment with us. The position is a permanent position in the natural science program and language introduction starting on Friday, August 8, 2025.

As a teacher, you are fully responsible for the courses including planning, teaching, examinations, assessments, grading, and evaluation.

At Östra Real Gymnasium, teachers work in subject teams and you are expected to actively contribute to the school's and subject's development through collaboration and dialogue with other teachers and staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for an engaged teacher with strong subject knowledge who has the ability to inspire students and create focus, a conducive working environment, and a good working climate. The basic requirement is that you have a teaching certificate with authorization to teach Swedish and English at the high school level.

We are looking for a teacher who is interested in good dialogue with students and who sees students' high goals as a positive challenge. You are expected to actively work to clarify and communicate grading criteria and the fundamentals of assessment and, in connection with that, identify the student's developmental needs. You should have good communication skills and speak and write fluent Swedish. Experience with formative assessment is an advantage.

Your view on knowledge and students is important to us. We work student-centered to challenge all students. This means that we start at a level where all students are included and then challenge them with a varied approach.

Since we use IT in communication with students and staff, you are expected to have good IT skills and be interested in actively working with IT in teaching. We are looking for a teacher with good collaboration skills and an interest in cooperating with other teachers in subject and work teams.

At Östra Real, we actively work with mentorship and want development discussions to be valuable for students' development. Therefore, we would like you to have experience working as a mentor, to be engaged in students' development and goal fulfillment, and skilled at communicating and guiding students on an individual level.
